Goals

Crush it on the shelf next to other brands using high graphic printing techniques without losing their brand recognition.

The Problem

GeeWhiz's brand identity has an undeniable connection with quality for its customers. GeeWhiz, without losing its strong brand recognition and straightforward approach, needed a high graphic solution for new product lines.

Our discovery led to learning about their above-and-beyond farming practices that include special trellis systems and the steadfast practice of truly picking fruit when ripe, even if that means multiple passes as fruit matures. To them, flavor is king, and all their farming practices are pointed towards that goal, even if it means losing out on quantity. This guided visual bursts of color and color palette. I wanted to “paint flavor” onto the surface of the packaging.

Solution

It was important to capture the idea of unrivaled bursts of flavor. I used blues and greens to offset the red logo. Red naturally evokes flavor and appetite.

The logo is larger than it is on other packaging lines, which is essential. I worked hard to help integrate it into the design, using layering and overlapping to give it a settled and integrated place of honor. We photographed the product for the font of the pouch and developed a layout system that was easily manipulated for each varietal.The identity more deeply connects to place, supporting brand activation and meaningful connection with their customers. With the addition of new deliverables, the vision continues to bear.
