A strong identity to make a powerful statement
Screenprinted bottles have a unique nature. The printing becomes part of the bottle. I went through a painstaking selection of Pantones and worked closely with Universal Packaging to execute the final results.
Concequintly, those who are lucky enough to posess a bottle of Hi Oasis wine will keep the bottle long after the wine has been enjoyed. That's an impact.
Inspiration
I wanted to create a visual code of place and connect the brand to the natural surroundings.
Lake Osoyoos sits on the USA/Canada border and is both remote and beautiful. The logo drew direct inspiration from the waters and lands surrounding it. Stylistically, I played with natural geometry, gaining insight from sunbeams, reflections, and vineyard rows.
Creative Direction/Illustration
I wanted an illustration style that was bold but true to nature. The illustrations needed to capture the truth of the botanicals that the owners of Hi Oasis referenced and desired to be used for their red blend and rosé wines. With screenprinting, you have the ability to nearly accomplish 360 degree coverage. This packs a serious punch on the shelf.
Lindsay Bridenthal, the artist behind the plant life illustrations, brought her considerable talent to the table on each varietal. Because these bottles are screen printed, we worked to create a style and approach that would bring these illustrations to life through the nature of the technique.
