Rice Fruit Company is the largest apple agricultural packaging company in the Eastern half of the US. They are located near Gettysburg PA, and are centered in the heart of PA’s orchard country. They have been in operation since 1913, however, their family has been growing apples in the area since the late 1600’s. Agricultural graphic design is one of our specialties.
Rice Fruit’s story was the inspiration behind their identity and rebrand. The new logo reflects a strong company with historical roots that reaches for the future. The logo needed to be fresh, friendly and attractive. Because Rice is a home grown company we also wanted to reflect the local produce aspect that is so strong with them. Two versions of the logo were produced: One for their packaging and on for their other marketing materials.
- Branding guidelines
Well structured branding guidelines and supporting graphic elements take an identity to the next level. Awdience set up a formula of typefaces, colors and secondary graphics that create a cohesive visual brand that has visually united Rice Fruit.
Rice has an incredible portfolio of apple varieties. We developed a system of colors that work both as a whole and helps to differentiate between the varieties.
The trick with the boxes was that we could only use a certain amount of colors. The illustrated leaves and apples on the boxes when stacked, connect up for an even more cohesive and upscaled appearance.
- Business Suite, Sign, Ads, T-shirt and Trade-show
As a part of Rice Fruit brand overhaul, all aspects of their visual representation have been updated
We built a simple brochure style website on the Squarespace CMS, made it mobile friendly and used custom web-fonts according to our branding guidelines.
“We had a very positive experience working with Awdience and the two principals there, Elena and Aaron Payne. We picked the firm to design our new logo and to handle the rebranding of our packaging and to redesign our website. They were wonderful to work with. They gave us a choice of many different design directions. We purposely chose a design which emphasized our “locally grown” niche in the fresh fruit world. They were very quick to respond to all of our requests, and they came up with very creative ideas for expanding on our theme. All of their work was very professional, and we have had very many nice comments about the results. It is also worth mentioning that the cost of their services was very reasonable. Compared to some of the firms we interviewed, their work was probably half as expensive, but we chose them because we liked their work better. We would recommend Awdience to any potential clients. I would expect anyone to be as satisfied as we were.” John Rice – Rice Fruit Company
